As the news paper report, a village boy who had fought bravely against a tiger while he was returning home by the jungle path. Swami argued that a boy could not fight against a tiger. He must have been a strong, grown-up person. His father said that courage was more important than the strength and age. When Swami was not ready to accept it, his father challenged him to prove his courage by sleeping alone in the office room. While he was sleeping, saw a dark figure believed to be the devil. Swami dug his teeth into its leg. It turned out to be a notorious burglar. Thus, Swami became unexpectedly a hero.

2. What desperate attempts did Swami make to escape from his father?
Swami tried to change the subject. He said with great spirit that the cricket club would buy new brand bats and balls. He requested his father that he would sleep from the first of next month. He also gave many excuses that the office room was dusty and filled with scorpions behind the law books.

3. Narrate Swami’s dreadful experience when he was lying under the bench.
Swami crouched under the bench because he thought that was safe. He shut his eyes tight and fell asleep with nightmares. A tiger was chasing him, he desperately tried to escape but could not move. He stared into the darkness something was moving down, he hugged it and bit with all his might. The burglar screamed and fell amidst the furniture. By hearing the cry father, cook, servant came and caught him.
